Alien Incursion (2006)

The blurb: "A parks ranger must protect hikers from not only an incursion of meteor-spawned aliens but the para-military 'alien hunters' that want to eliminate the creatures - and any witnesses to their arrival on earth."

I actually found some parts of "Alien Incursion" quite exciting especially in the second half but there was a lot of mentally draining bickering in the beginning which almost had me switching the film off in disgust.

I'm not overly into "alien monster" films anyway although I did like "Slither" recently. In spite of using CGI for the creatures again this isn't really in the same league. The aliens don't appear much anyway. "Alien Incursion" is very cheaply made and relies more on the strong performances from former Miss Canada Kiara Hunter and Tom O'Brien than anything else.

Not every character is good though and all are inconsistent. In spite of a lot of attempts at characterisation, they are so two-dimensional that it's impossible to care about any of them living or dying anyway apart from Kiara.

"Alien Incursion" wasn't particularly gory but there were a couple of good gunshot wounds. It also didn't have any suspense and the ending was a bit weak too.

I'd like to give it 3 out of 10 but it just wasn't that inspiring so I'm going to rate it as 2 out of 10. It's still not a bad little film but it won't win any awards for originality.
