Happy Thanksgiving Day!
It's Thanksgiving Day in America. Although it's entirely meaningless to me, it does mean a day off and an excuse to eat a Christmas turkey early.
I'm thankful that I went to Wal-Mart last night and got 2 of the "4-Film Pack" collections of horror movies. The first has "Pumpkinhead 2", "Leprechaun", "Wishmaster" and "Wishmaster 2" on it (to replace my scratched Wishmaster DVD) and the second has "Drive Thru", "Creep", "Boy Eats Girl" and "Tamara" on it. I already had "Tamara" but don't care as each set was only $5 each.
I can now also give you a fuller list of Wal-Mart's "Featured $7.50 DVDs" section:
An American Werewolf in Paris
Bloodrayne
Cursed
Dog Soldiers
Double Feature: The Howling/Howling 2: Your Sister Is a Werewolf
Fright Night
From Dusk Till Dawn
From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money
From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter
Ginger Snaps Back
Ginger Snaps Unleashed
Martin
Midnite Movies Double Feature: Countess Dracula/The Vampire Lovers
Midnite Movies Double Feature: Once Bitten/Vampire's Kiss
My Best Friend is a Vampire
Near Dark
Perfect Creature
Wolf
The Wolf Man
and
5 Vampire Movies (I've never heard of any of them in the set)
I also went to K-Mart and got "A Haunting in Georgia" and "A Haunting in Connecticut" as a double feature for $2.99. They are the Discovery Channel TV true ghost stories not movies but they scared the piss out of me when I watched them late at night a few years ago. I saw that K-Mart had the Echo Bridge collection of "Puppetmaster/Puppetmaster 2/Puppetmaster 3" for $5 but I left it because those films suck.
Having looked up Echo Bridge's website, there are a load of new 4 film packs coming from them especially in "The Midnight Horror Collection" range so it may be wise to not buy any of the current ones and wait until January next year. They do tend to repeat the titles somewhat and mix several good films with absolute dross so it'll be interesting to see which ones Wal-Mart and K-Mart stock.
Anyway, have a good turkey day.
